Aprender c\u00f3mo nuestro cuerpo-mente reacciona, seg\u00fan lo tratamos ser\u00e1 una gu\u00eda de buenas pr\u00e1cticas. Diversos h\u00e1bitos son necesarios para garantizar un \u00f3ptimo funcionamiento del cuerpo-mente. Uno de ellos: h\u00e1bitos del sue\u00f1o. \u00bfQu\u00e9 es el sue\u00f1o? El sue\u00f1o es un estado fisiol\u00f3gico y biol\u00f3gico relacionado con la salud, el bienestar y la longevidad. Est\u00e1 regulado por una especie de reloj interno, el ciclo circadiano que se relaciona con el d\u00eda y la noche. Establecer buenos h\u00e1bitos del sue\u00f1o ser\u00e1 indispensable para lograr una buena calidad de vida. Por el contrario, dormir mal o poco en forma sostenida en el tiempo, generar\u00e1 disfunciones a nivel cognitivo, f\u00edsico, emocional y social.\\n\\n<strong>A nivel f\u00edsico:<\/strong> el descanso favorece la oxigenaci\u00f3n de los tejidos, la regeneraci\u00f3n celular, la reparaci\u00f3n muscular y el equilibrio, entre otras muchas cosas. De all\u00ed que, cuerpos con buen descanso, ser\u00e1n m\u00e1s joviales. El mal sue\u00f1o, afecta negativamente el funcionamiento de \u00f3rganos y tejidos. Disminuye el rendimiento en los diversos procesos y funciones corporales, generando efectos negativos acumulativos. Dormir mal altera el metabolismo, lo que podr\u00e1 conducir al aumento de peso, as\u00ed como a diagn\u00f3sticos de diabetes tipo II. La falta de sue\u00f1o predispone a problemas circulatorios as\u00ed como card\u00edacos. Altera el sistema inmunol\u00f3gico, end\u00f3crino y los dem\u00e1s sistemas vitales.\\n\\n<strong>A nivel cognitivo:<\/strong> es importante destacar que el cerebro requiere de un buen descanso para lograr el buen funcionamiento integrado mente-cuerpo. El sue\u00f1o en s\u00ed permite el reseteo diario que el organismo necesita para sostener las diversas funciones en forma adecuada. La falta de sue\u00f1o altera capacidades como ser: atenci\u00f3n, concentraci\u00f3n, memoria, motivaci\u00f3n y resoluci\u00f3n de problemas, entre otros.\\n\\n<strong>A nivel emocional:<\/strong> un sue\u00f1o adecuado es esencial para permitir la regulaci\u00f3n de las emociones y la capacidad de autocontrol. Dormir bien favorece emociones y actitud positiva, as\u00ed como optimista. Por ejemplo, durante el sue\u00f1o REM el cerebro procesa los eventos diarios y sus respectivas emociones. Por el contrario, la falta de sue\u00f1o tiende a generar emociones negativas as\u00ed como una evaluaci\u00f3n distorsionada de la realidad. Descansar en forma insuficiente o con mala calidad, predispone al estr\u00e9s y a problemas psicol\u00f3gicos como la ansiedad y la depresi\u00f3n. Asimismo, pueden ser evidentes alteraciones del humor, irritabilidad y agresividad, entre otros.\\n\\n<strong>A nivel social:<\/strong> el sue\u00f1o inadecuado conlleva dificultades en el relacionamiento. Genera conflictos y altera la capacidad de empat\u00eda v de comunicaci\u00f3n. Predispone a la fatiga v facilita dificultades de desempe\u00f1o laboral y acad\u00e9mico, as\u00ed como la participaci\u00f3n en accidentes, etc.\\n\\nEl cuidado del sue\u00f1o tanto en cantidad como en calidad, es importante en todas las edades. Cada etapa evolutiva tiene requerimientos espec\u00edficos que atender y es recomendable informarse al respecto. Cuando la falta de sue\u00f1o es cr\u00f3nica, los trastornos psicol\u00f3gicos que se generan, producen m\u00e1s alteraciones del sue\u00f1o y se fortalece un c\u00edrculo vicioso.\\n\\n<strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 indicadores podr\u00edan evidenciar problemas del sue\u00f1o?<\/strong>\\n\\nDespertares nocturnos, despertares tempranos, dificultades para la conciliaci\u00f3n, pesadillas, levantarse cansado, percibir que el sue\u00f1o no ha sido reparador, enfermedades, trastornos del sue\u00f1o como la apnea, el s\u00edndrome de piernas inquietas, insomnio, entre otros. En los casos en que estas situaciones se sostienen en el tiempo, es importante consultar con el profesional de la salud correspondiente.\\n\\n<strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo favorecer la calidad del sue\u00f1o?<\/strong>\\n\\nRespetar un horario para irse a dormir y mantener una rutina que respete el ciclo noche\/d\u00eda. Dormir el tiempo suficiente, lo que para la mayor\u00eda de los adultos son unas siete u ocho horas. Cuidar las condiciones del lugar f\u00edsico: que sea un ambiente limpio, y ordenado, oscuro, con una temperatura fresca y en silencio. Cenar con tiempo suficiente para hacer la digesti\u00f3n y no consumir estimulantes. Dejar de utilizar pantallas al menos una hora antes de acostarse as\u00ed como sacar los artefactos electr\u00f3nicos fuera del dormitorio. Es importante irse a dormir con la mayor tranquilidad. Si bien es cierto que en ocasiones situaciones ajenas pueden afectarnos, evitemos discutir o mantener conversaciones dif\u00edciles antes de acostarnos. Practicar respiraci\u00f3n consciente, relajaci\u00f3n, meditaci\u00f3n, etc. favorecer\u00e1 una buena conciliaci\u00f3n y calidad del sue\u00f1o. \u00a1Estos son algunos de los h\u00e1bitos a instalar y sostener con esmero!\\n\\n<strong>\u00bfPara qu\u00e9 cuidar el sue\u00f1o?<\/strong>\\n\\nEl sue\u00f1o es un proceso reparador, reorganizador y renovador del organismo orientado a optimizar el funcionamiento mente-cuerpo. Si bien otros factores tambi\u00e9n juegan, el sue\u00f1o es indispensable para lograr:\\n<\/p>\n<ul>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Estabilidad y gesti\u00f3n emocional.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Buen rendimiento y desempe\u00f1o.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Interrelaciones personales satisfactorias.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Regulaci\u00f3n de los diversos sistemas corporales.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Factores protectores.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Salud y bienestar.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Creatividad e innovaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<p>\\n \\t<\/p>\n<li>Desarrollo de las funciones Diversos h\u00e1bitos son necesarios para garantizar un \u00f3ptimo funcionamiento del cuerpo-mente. Uno de ellos: h\u00e1bitos del sue\u00f1o. \u00bfQu\u00e9 es el sue\u00f1o? El sue\u00f1o es un estado fisiol\u00f3gico y biol\u00f3gico relacionado con la salud, el bienestar y la longevidad. Est\u00e1 regulado por una especie de reloj interno, el ciclo circadiano que se relaciona con el d\u00eda y la noche. Establecer buenos h\u00e1bitos del sue\u00f1o ser\u00e1 indispensable para lograr una buena calidad de vida. Por el contrario, dormir mal o poco en forma sostenida en el tiempo, generar\u00e1 disfunciones a nivel cognitivo, f\u00edsico, emocional y social.\\n\\nA nivel f\u00edsico: el descanso favorece la oxigenaci\u00f3n de los tejidos, la regeneraci\u00f3n celular, la reparaci\u00f3n muscular y el equilibrio, entre otras muchas cosas. De all\u00ed que, cuerpos con buen descanso, ser\u00e1n m\u00e1s joviales. El mal sue\u00f1o, afecta negativamente el funcionamiento de \u00f3rganos y tejidos. Disminuye el rendimiento en los diversos procesos y funciones corporales, generando efectos negativos acumulativos. Dormir mal altera el metabolismo, lo que podr\u00e1 conducir al aumento de peso, as\u00ed como a diagn\u00f3sticos de diabetes tipo II. La falta de sue\u00f1o predispone a problemas circulatorios as\u00ed como card\u00edacos. Altera el sistema inmunol\u00f3gico, end\u00f3crino y los dem\u00e1s sistemas vitales.\\n\\nA nivel cognitivo: es importante destacar que el cerebro requiere de un buen descanso para lograr el buen funcionamiento integrado mente-cuerpo. El sue\u00f1o en s\u00ed permite el reseteo diario que el organismo necesita para sostener las diversas funciones en forma adecuada. La falta de sue\u00f1o altera capacidades como ser: atenci\u00f3n, concentraci\u00f3n, memoria, motivaci\u00f3n y resoluci\u00f3n de problemas, entre otros.\\n\\nA nivel emocional: un sue\u00f1o adecuado es esencial para permitir la regulaci\u00f3n de las emociones y la capacidad de autocontrol. Dormir bien favorece emociones y actitud positiva, as\u00ed como optimista. Por ejemplo, durante el sue\u00f1o REM el cerebro procesa los eventos diarios y sus respectivas emociones. Por el contrario, la falta de sue\u00f1o tiende a generar emociones negativas as\u00ed como una evaluaci\u00f3n distorsionada de la realidad. Descansar en forma insuficiente o con mala calidad, predispone al estr\u00e9s y a problemas psicol\u00f3gicos como la ansiedad y la depresi\u00f3n. Asimismo, pueden ser evidentes alteraciones del humor, irritabilidad y agresividad, entre otros.\\n\\nA nivel social: el sue\u00f1o inadecuado conlleva dificultades en el relacionamiento. Genera conflictos y altera la capacidad de empat\u00eda v de comunicaci\u00f3n. Predispone a la fatiga v facilita dificultades de desempe\u00f1o laboral y acad\u00e9mico, as\u00ed como la participaci\u00f3n en accidentes, etc.\\n\\nEl cuidado del sue\u00f1o tanto en cantidad como en calidad, es importante en todas las edades. Cada etapa evolutiva tiene requerimientos espec\u00edficos que atender y es recomendable informarse al respecto. Cuando la falta de sue\u00f1o es cr\u00f3nica, los trastornos psicol\u00f3gicos que se generan, producen m\u00e1s alteraciones del sue\u00f1o y se fortalece un c\u00edrculo vicioso.\\n\\n\u00bfQu\u00e9 indicadores podr\u00edan evidenciar problemas del sue\u00f1o?\\n\\nDespertares nocturnos, despertares tempranos, dificultades para la conciliaci\u00f3n, pesadillas, levantarse cansado, percibir que el sue\u00f1o no ha sido reparador, enfermedades, trastornos del sue\u00f1o como la apnea, el s\u00edndrome de piernas inquietas, insomnio, entre otros. En los casos en que estas situaciones se sostienen en el tiempo, es importante consultar con el profesional de la salud correspondiente.\\n\\n\u00bfC\u00f3mo favorecer la calidad del sue\u00f1o?\\n\\nRespetar un horario para irse a dormir y mantener una rutina que respete el ciclo noche\/d\u00eda. Dormir el tiempo suficiente, lo que para la mayor\u00eda de los adultos son unas siete u ocho horas. Cuidar las condiciones del lugar f\u00edsico: que sea un ambiente limpio, y ordenado, oscuro, con una temperatura fresca y en silencio. Cenar con tiempo suficiente para hacer la digesti\u00f3n y no consumir estimulantes.
